BIO

Inspired by musicians with different music styles like Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea or Béla Fleck and bass players like Victor Wooten or John Deacon, Alejandro Masafret is a versatile bassist who enjoys playing jazz, blues, brazilian music, pop or rock.

Alejandro Masafret is a live and session musician who has worked with artists like Rozalén, Soraya Arnelas, Fredi Leis or Antonio José for many years.  He also played on stage with Antonio Orozco and Carlos Baute. During the same time he recorded soundtracks for movies like “Perdiendo el Norte” (Nacho G. Velilla, 2015) and "1,2,3...rodando" .

Alejandro was born in Ferrol, Spain (1980) and grew up in this city. The heart of Ferrol beats to the rhythm of music. It has a great culture of music, many musicians were born and grew up there and you can always find someone playing music on the street or in a bar. He started playing the bass at the age of 17 in different bands of the rock, jazz and blues scene.

During the same time he was director and teacher of different schools in Spain like "Escuela de Música Moderna in Narón", "Rockschool La Coruña". Current he is teaching at the "Escuela de Blues" in Madrid.

"I use Markbass for more than 7 years now,"—says Alejandro—"because it’s the perfect mix between quality of sound, power, size and weight for an amplifier. Markbass has revolutionized the label of the bass players amplifications. Markbass is the best brand of the last decade for me."
